When looking at the butterfly pages by species, remember that by left clicking on the latin species name, at the top of the page, in the right corner, to the right of the specie name, you will be taken to a master Home Ranges page, showing home range maps for each species.
Below the butterfly image on the butterfly by specie page, on the right hand side you will also find a home range map. (Purple shaded areas on this map are the actual species home range (s).) Clicking on this map will take you to the master Home Range page.
When on the master Home Range page, clicking on the World Map text on the top of the page, in the left corner, will bring you to the comprehensive World Map by country.
Clicking on any map in the master Home Range page will bring you to an enlarged version of that map. Clicking on the "Go to link" button will bring you back to the specie page.
As you navigate this site, remember that most icons and text, when left clicked, will bring you to a different page.
To be sure, hover over the icon and you will get a pen point telling you where the icon will take you. Hover over text, and if it changes color, it will take you to the page that it represents.
Arrow icons at the bottom of the pages, when clicked, will bring you to the top of the page.
About Butterfly Species Galleries
Butterfly Species Galleries was created simply as a vehicle to present butterfly images.
Over time, however, a fascination and affinity for these winged creatures, and a need to know more about their remarkable lives has caused the site to become much more.

The website, as you see it today, is the culmination of my fascination with these remarkable creatures, and hundreds of hours photographing butterflies and hundreds more hours educating myself about them.
The site currently contains 172 species from 9 geographic regions, and contains 221 pages of text and images, as well as a video showing many of the species that we show.
* Some images are not of the quality that I would typically choose to show, but are still useful in identifying the species. They will be replaced as better images become available.
* This website is under continual upgrade, and will continue to show more species and information as I am able to photograph, identify and educate myself about them.
