Thyridia is a monotypic genus of clearwing (ithomiine) butterflies, named by Jacob Hübner in 1816.
Its only species is Thyridia psidii, the Spotted Amberwing, (Melantho Tigerwing or Clapping Ticlear).
It is a brush-footed (Nymphalidae family) butterfly found in the Neotropical zone.
Amberwings are found at elevations between 0 - 1600 m., and prefer to fly at 3 m. or more above the ground.

Diet: caterpillars feed on several species of flower in the Solanacae family.
Diet: adults feed on the nectar of flowers.

* Being Brush-footed butterflies, Amberwings have a short pair of fore legs that are used to taste food, and two pairs of longer rear legs that are used for propulsion.
