Butterfly populations are a very good indicator of the health of an area's ecosystem !!
Also known as the Wood White.
Delias acalis is easily recognisable by the large red area around the base of the dorsal side hind wing, which extends to below the cell.
They are more common in the northern half of their range, and are considered to be very rare in South India and the Malay Peninsula.
