Junonia sophia are found in degraded forest habitats, e.g. in clearings, glades and along forest paths, where they are attracted to flowers through their vibrant colors and shapes, partaking in the pollination process as they feed on pollen.
They tend to form small colonies, usually of a dozen or so that can be found flying together in sunny forest glades and similar semi open habitats, where they bask on grass heads or flowers with wings fully outspread.
Potential predators of adults are birds, small mammals, larger insects, spiders
