Butterfly populations are a very good indicator of the health of an area's ecosystem !!
    Laxita thuisto is a small butterfly that is fond of shady areas and can usually be observed in shady forested spots.
   Their range includes Burma, Sumatra, Borneo, Malaya, Langkawi, and Singapore.
   Adults have the habit of hopping from leaf to leaf in the shade and resting with half opened wings.         Males tend to be more active and faster fliers than the females.
   On their dorsal side, male are black to deep blue with no markings, while females are reddish brown with black spots on both wings and several white apical spots on the forewing.
   On the ventral side, both sexes are orange-brown, ornamented by blue-edged black spots and bluish basal striae.
    The female has larger and more prominent white apical spots on the forewing.

Avg. wingspan: 1.8 - 2.3 cm / .7 - .9 “
